This course is for those who want to feel confident during soft-skills interviews in IT.
Not technical interviews — but the ones where you hear questions like:
- “Tell me about yourself”,
- “What are your strengths?”,
- “Why did you leave your previous job?”,
- or “Where do you see yourself in five years?”
In other words — the questions most technical specialists dislike the most. Yet they keep being asked. And not by accident: your answers to these questions can be the deciding factor between a “yes” and a “no” for your next job offer. This course is not a set of templates and not about “trying to please everyone”. Instead, it’s my practical approach to answering these questions in a way that sounds natural, confident, and professional — without clichés, frustration, or copy-pasted answers from the internet.
My name is Kostiantyn, and I’m a frontend and full-stack developer with many years of experience. That means I’m not a career consultant and not a “success coach”. This course is based entirely on my own experience — dozens of interviews, real mistakes, and hard-earned lessons. Everything I share here is not theory, but something I’ve personally lived through and tested. This course is for those who want to learn how to talk about themselves honestly, but strategically.
Without underselling themselves. Without playing a role. But presenting their strengths the way candidates who actually get offers do.
To help you understand not only how to answer each question well, but also why these questions are asked in the first place, I break down every question using a dedicated framework:
- Why does the interviewer ask this question? (Their motivation)
- What does the company actually want to hear when asking it?
- What should you never say in response?
- What you should say — considering your experience, the job description, and the overlap between your background and the role’s requirements
“Truth” vs “not truth” in the context of this question:
what you might think about yourself vs what you should say — and why the best results come when there’s no big gap or contradiction between the two
The mindset you should have while answering this question
Additionally, for each question, I separately explain how best to answer it depending on your level:
- Junior (no commercial experience)
- Middle (a few years of commercial experience)
- Senior (extensive commercial experience)
